Guacamole







Making guacamole dip

Chop finely and put it in a fine mesh strainer. Rinse onion under running water and soak in water for 5 minutes. Press onion in the strainer to get rid of as much water as you can.

  • 1/2 red or white onion
Cut in half. Remove seeds. Scoop the meat with spoon. Put it in a bowl and mash until it becomes puree.
  • 2 ripe avocados

Chop finely and add to the avocados:

  • 1 serrano chile, stem and seeds removed

  • 2 tablespoons cilantro leaves
  • 1/2 tomato
  • 1 clove garlic

  • squeezed chopped onion

Add to the avocado and mix:
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon of freshly grated black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt or to your taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon cumin powder
Garnish with chili powder. Serve with tortilla chips.
